This Privacy Policy explains how Sheena’s Library (“the App”) handles information when you use the app to browse books, report missing titles, contact us, or make a donation.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

2.1 Contact form

When you use the in-app contact form, we collect the information you choose to submit so we can respond to you:

Name
Email address
Phone number (optional)
Message content

This information is used only to respond to your enquiry and is not sold or shared for marketing or advertising purposes.

2.2 Admin login

For administrative features (such as managing inventory), the App uses Firebase Authentication to sign in an authorized admin user via email and password. These credentials are managed securely by Firebase and are used solely to provide admin access.

2.3 Automatically collected technical data

The App may use Firebase and related services to collect limited technical information, such as:

App instance identifiers or installation IDs
Crash logs and performance data
Basic device and OS information (e.g. model, OS version)

This data is used only to ensure the App functions correctly, to diagnose issues, and to improve stability. It is not used to personally identify you or track you across other apps or websites.

3. Donations & payments

The App may provide options to donate using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Payment processing is handled directly by these providers or by our payment processor; the App does not store your full payment card details.

Any personal or payment information you provide during a donation is subject to the privacy policy of the relevant payment provider.

4. Third-party services

The App may interact with the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google) – authentication, data storage, diagnostics.
Payment providers – Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal for donations.
Maps and external links – opening directions or the Sheena’s Library Facebook page in your browser or external apps.

These services may collect their own data in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We do not sell your data or permit third parties to track you for advertising via this App.

5. How we use your information

To respond to messages you send via the contact form.
To provide and secure admin functionality.
To maintain and improve the App’s performance and reliability.
To process voluntary donations via trusted payment providers.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact details with advertisers or data brokers. Limited data may be shared with service providers (e.g. Firebase, payment processors) strictly for the purposes described above.

7. Data retention

We retain contact form submissions and related details only for as long as necessary to respond to your query and maintain basic records of correspondence, unless a longer period is required by law or for legitimate project administration.

8. Children’s privacy

Sheena’s Library is intended for general audiences and is primarily used by adults managing or visiting the community library. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Your rights
